The Era of KENT!!
If you’ve followed our facebook page, you’ve noticed someone new showing up in our pictures and videos. We are super excited to introduce you all to Kent Shores, our new guitar player/backing vocalist. In the fall one of our founding members, Dawson Walker, decided he was wanting to pursue some other projects and although we will still continue to have Dawson on stage with us from time to time, we were needing a more permanent member. Thus…… The Era of Kent begins. Keep your eyes on the website as his bio and pic will be there soon.
We are a Finalist
WE HAVE SOME EXCITING NEWS!! Five on the Side is one of the finalists in the “Live Entertainment – Bands” Category of the Edmonton Event Awards. With so many amazing and outstanding bands in Edmonton, this comes as a big surprise and an even bigger honour. We will find out the results on March 15/2018 at the Awards Ceremony, but regardless of the outcome we are very excited to have made it this far.

We want to say a very big thank you to all the companies that brought us into their Christmas parties this year. It’s definitely been a season full of friends, family and fun. A very special thank you to Paul Doucette for inviting us to his annual Christmas Social and to the SawMill for letting us Ring in the New Year with them. Welcome to 2018 everyone. It’s going to be the next, Best Year Ever!!!
End of an Era
It’s with some sadness that we are announcing the departure of Dawson Walker, one of the founding members of Five On The Side. It’s been an awesome 12 years, and we want to wish Dawson all the best in where his music is going to take him next. Thanks for the memories and music, and for spending the last 12 years sharing your life with us. Although our friendship will continue on forever (and the occasional sub gig may happen), Five On The Side’s next chapter is just starting. Be well our friend, and may the force be with you.
Creekwood Stock… Rocked!!!!
Creekwood/Chappelle really know how to have an awesome time on a weekend. Fun for the whole family at this all day event. It was a pleasure to be part of the second annual Creekwood Stock.

We invited 5 On the Side to perform at a tourism event in Iceland to help us promote Edmonton and Jasper to over 800 tour operators and tourism stakeholders from around the world. All the guests enjoyed the audience interaction and energy put into each song, which kept everyone entertained all night. The band mixes a great variety of songs with awesome vocals and music, and was accommodating and easy to work with. They are excellent ambassadors for Alberta! Not only are they Edmonton’s favourite party band, but for our event in Iceland...they were certainly the global favourite! Thank you!
